The low sun, sometimes mellow, rising late in the mornings of the shorter days, perhaps piercing at acute angles through the clouds, decidedly dominant with deep ochres and fiery ember reds setting in receding daylight, casting long shadows and stories of the winters edge.
From late October until almost the end of February Scotland endures short daylight hours and conversely long ling hours of darkness. The sun is to be greatly appreciated providing its natural luminance and vitality through this time.
I have tried to capture the beauty and moods of the winter sunlight from rising to setting, on shore and land.
