Linnette Kelly is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. The source of her work is mainly influenced by the landscape of the Scottish Borders and her affinity with the Mull of Kintyre; a visual interplay between the rolling hills, moods and memories of land, to seascapes with the same atmospheric open spaces and natural textures when tidal patterns sweep on the shore of the Atlantic.
These elements flow throughout Linnette’s work with her using a palette of greys, golds and orange. Collage is used in areas to enhance rugged ground whilst dark skies create atmosphere and brilliance of light never absent on the shores of Mull.
Scottish landscapes and shores lend themselves to these elements: a magical land of ever changing moods of earth, sea and sky.
