Trained at Birmingham Polytechnic and since 1977 has been a studio potter.
Exhibited at Birmingham City Museum, Todd Garners Gallery, the Peter Potter,
The Bridge Gallery and with the Scottish Potters Association at various galleries in Ayr, Dundee, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
Solo exhibitions at the Heinzel Gallery & the Peter Potter Gallery.
In 2000 enjoyed a two week residency in Iceland.
Moved to the East coast and started selling work at other galleries throughout Scotland.
Exhibited at the Aberdeen Artists Society exhibition.
In 2007 stopped making pottery due to other work commitments.
In 2013 returned to making pottery on a part-time basis.
I use a stoneware clay to make my pieces which are usually slab-built or press-moulded with particular emphasis on surface texture. Oxides and slips as well as a small amount of glaze are used to add colour, and the work is generally fired to a temperature of around 1230C.
Since moving to the East coast my work shows a growing fascination with figures, while many of the designs and colours reveal the influence of the Aberdeenshire landscape.
