For me, painting is an essential and very personal language that allows me to respond to life’s uncertainties and ambiguities. I take inspiration from the idea that beauty is not always balanced, harmonious or even comfortable.
I believe art tests us and allows us to see all sorts of things that are not really there – it is joyfully free of common constraints.
The energy, vibrant colour and fluid line so characteristic of my work, result from the freedom I have as an artist to be inexact. My paintings are not pieces of information but more an invitation to encounter and engage with something new.
