Elin Isaksson is originally from Sweden where she initially was taught her craft at the Orrefors glass school next to the famous crystal factory. She set up her own glass blowing business in 2010 in Scotland with support from Clackmannanshire council and Scottish Arts council, after graduating from her MA in Applied Arts at Edinburgh collage of Art.
Further education includes apprenticeships in Sweden, France and Italy.
Elin creates functional items like candle holders and oil lamps which can be found in galleries around the UK, although her passion lies in creating sculptural items and interior accessories for home and business interiors.
She also made bespoke awards and corporate gifts and some of her previous clients are Oil & Gas UK, National Museum of Scotland and Glenfiddich.
Elin takes inspiration from her Scottish and Swedish natural surroundings and her forms are often simple, drawing from her Scandinavian influences and her shapes are very tactile. Her designs are to reveal a sense of movement and to capture the intense energy when working with molten glass.
