Artist - Jill McKenzie

Jill Mackenzie has worked for the last 10 years from her studio in the North East of Scotland.  Art has always been an important part of life, so upon retiring it seemed natural to study Fine Art at Moray School of Art.

Since then she has been largely self-taught, gaining information from art courses, other artists, collecting ideas and experimenting.  These have culminated in the paintings of today.  With easy access to the coast and surrounding hills, she creates her interpretation of an image utilising mixed media, including collage, ink, acrylic paint and pastels.  Jill has exhibited in many of the Galleries in the North of Scotland, but The Velvet Easel Gallery is the first Edinburgh gallery she has exhibited in.
