Sarah Knox uses a highly individual palette and technique to record the layers of history and the spirit of place found in Scottish shorelines and mountains.
Her childhood was spent on the idyllic North Norfolk coast which inspired her fascination with landscapes. She went on to study Fine Art at the universities of Exeter and London and has had a rich career working for The Scottish Arts Council in arts broadcasting for Scottish Television and as a Gallery Education Manager for The Fruitmarket Gallery before returning to her first love of teaching art.
She has sustained her contemporary art practice throughout her career, and has had exceptional success exhibiting her work, now represented in many private and public collections.
After more than 20 years in the classroom Sarah has retired from art teaching and now works as a freelance educator for The National Galleries of Scotland and teaches Adult landscape painting courses.
She creates original works of art, hand-finished art prints and commissioned paintings.
