John Martin Fulton studied painting at Glasgow School of Art, winning awards from the RSA and GSA when graduating in 2004. He has continually developed his painting from his studio in Glasgow’s East End while working in social care settings as an art teacher. He uses bold and expressive colours to give his work vibrancy and a sense of mood. His technique demonstrates skill but also gives his paintings a sense of feeling and emotion. His paintings of flowers owe much to the expressive floral works of Van Gogh.
In his early career John Martin won many awards including University of Glasgow Graduation Ceremony Artist 2014, The Royal Scottish Academy John Kinross 2004 and the GSA Landscape Prize 2004.
