In my paintings, I take inspiration from music, words, nature and my surroundings. I work with various media including print and drawing but primarily oils, building up multi layers of paint to incorporate an underlying narrative.
A sense of place is particularly important to my work, and a current project is a series of paintings depicting the landscape and locations from my childhood in rural Aberdeenshire.
I curate an arts programme at the Gordon Highlanders Museum and have been carrying out workshops there for several years.
Previously I spent 13 years as as an Arts Tutor for the Creative Learning Team in Aberdeen City Council for where I led a variety of groups from pre school children to adults as well as those with additional education needs. I also tutored with the MS Society for 4 years.
