Artist - Lynn Hanley

A love of the landscape and cities of Scotland combined with a strong colour palette give Lynn’s paintings a charm which is influenced by naive painters such as Grandma Moses and children’s book illustrator Kit Williams.

‘I find that as I work on my paintings I like to make up stories about the characters inhabiting them. The Morningside lady with her Jenners’ bag, the little brown dog taking it’s owner for a walk and the nosy neighbour peeking out behind a curtain’.

I have lived in Edinburgh since 1987 and I still find inspiration and new ways to paint the city and its architecture.
