Maree Hughes graduated from the Glasgow School of Art’s Drawing & Painting Department in 1988 and completed a Postgraduate there the following year. Maree is based at the Courtyard Studios, Irvine, Ayrshire.
Awards include second prize in the Derwent Art Prize 2020; Millers award, Paisley Art Institute, Paisley 2019; Derwent award, The Scottish Drawing Competition, Paisley 2017. Recent exhibitions include Re:Connect, Society of Scottish artists (virtual exhibition)2021; Derwent Art Prize, 2018 (Mall galleries London) & 2020 London & Paris (postponed) and The Scottish Portrait Awards, 2017.
