Jules Mather

Born in Glasgow, I have always felt a strong pull towards the outdoors. From an early age, art was a constant thread in my life- a way of observing, interpreting, and making sense of the world around me. That creative instinct never left me, even as life unfolded in different directions. Now living in Argyll, I create mixed media landscapes inspired by the textures and rhythms of the Scottish landscape. My work captures sensory impressions through layered colour, texture and form, offering a space where intuition, nature and emotion converge. My artistic journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to experimentation and discovery. I balance structure and spontaneity, allowing fragments of memory and feelings to emerge. My paintings invite viewers to pause, connect, and find their own sense of place within my work.
