Catriona Simpson is a figurative painter based in East Lothian, Scotland. Her work explores memory, nostalgia and the passing of time, drawing on archival photographs and familiar places.
Her current work focuses on outdoor swimming pools, exploring their connection to childhood, community and shared experience. Through expressive colour, layered paint and a process of erasure and rediscovery, she explores how memories shift and evolve over time.
Catriona graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, where she specialised in portraiture.
