Lucky Swallows

The Lucky Swallow wall decoration is a joyful collaboration between two unlikely kindred spirits: Anna Campbell-Jones– interior designer, retailer and presenter of Scotland’s Home of the Year – and Ally Mitchell, an award-winning former commercial diver who has devoted his life to clearing ocean plastic from Scotland’s shores and transforming it into innovative products for the home.

The swallows are more than decoration – they symbolise hope, homecoming and resilience. Inspired by a vintage enamel bird that has hung in Anna’s home since childhood, they reimagine a nostalgic motif for today, tackling the modern problem of marine pollution with creativity and purpose.

Each bird is hand-finished, featherlight and easy to perch on a wall with nothing more than a blob of Blu Tack. Perfect for a hallway, bathroom or gallery wall, they are decorative, sustainable and meaningful – proof that waste can be transformed into something worth treasuring.

The idea took flight quite by chance. Anna and Ally met at a climate conference in Glasgow, bonded over coffee, scones and stories of the sea, and soon a spark of inspiration became a plan: to create something simple, beautiful and made entirely from waste. Launched quietly on Instagram, the Lucky Swallows soared overnight.

Made in Scotland. Designed with purpose. Giving waste new wings – one Lucky Swallow at a time.
